Adult Orthodontics in Salisbury & Berlin

More and more adults are seeking orthodontic treatment, and it's little wonder why. A new smile can protect teeth and gums far into the future, revitalize your appearance, and create a boost in self-esteem, confidence, and happiness that radiates through every aspect of your personal and professional life. Plus, modern braces are thinner and lighter than ever, and treatment alternatives like Invisalign mean no one ever has to know you're straightening your teeth.

Our Treatment Options

We’re committed to providing the most efficient and effective treatment to our patients. Everyone’s mouth, teeth and bite are unique, which means treatment varies for each patient. Our most popular option is metal braces, which are more comfortable and more aesthetically appealing than ever. We also offer a variety of alternatives to traditional braces that give you a choice in how you pursue your new smile. Our complete list of treatments can be found below:

  • Traditional Metal Braces: These are the tried and true gold standard of orthodontic treatment, and what most people think of when they hear the word "braces." Made from high grade stainless steel, they use metal brackets and a thin, springy archwire to straighten the teeth. They're a durable, reliable, and highly cost effective form of treatment.
  • Clear Braces: These work the same way as metal braces, but instead of steel, the brackets are made from a clear ceramic composite material that blends in with teeth. This means they're far less visible than regular braces, but they're also slightly more fragile.
  • Invisalign: Invisalign eliminates brackets and wires altogether, instead using a series of clear, removable trays called aligners to straighten teeth. The aligners are virtually invisible when worn and completely removable, so no one has to know you're straightening your teeth, you can still enjoy all your favorite foods, and maintaining oral hygiene is as easy as ever.
  • Lingual Braces: Lingual braces work the same way as regular braces, with one key difference: the brackets are mounted to the inside (tongue side) of the teeth! This makes the completely invisible from the outside, but they're more expensive and more difficult to get used to than regular braces.

Dr. Tilghman or Dr. Schwartz will advise on the best treatment option for you, and answer all the questions you have about each.
